How Do Celebrities Have Perfect Skin? The Truth Behind A-List Skin Care

Ever noticed how celebrities seems to have such perfect skin?

It’s easy to be jealous, but in truth it’s mostly an airbrushed Photoshop job. Guys get five o’clock shadows and hair in their nose. Girls end up with blemishes and rogue hairs too. And we all have a sun spot somewhere.

People are not as perfect as they appear.

Celebrities Have Skin Problems Too

Remember, celebrities are people — and they have skin problems like everyone else. A lot of celebrities deal with sun damage because of their lifestyles. They’ve enjoyed beach vacations and they’ve worked long days outdoors for photo shoots or filming.

If you look at the faces of mature celebrities, you’ll see that they look like other people in their generation with sun damage. Make-up just goes a long way in covering it up.

How Do Celebrities Protect Their Skin?

Celebrities use the same things we do to protect their skin. Whether you’re out in your neighborhood pool or on an exotic island filming a movie, you need to regularly use sunscreen to prevent sun damage. Sun causes lines, wrinkles, brown spots, thinning skin, telangiectasias (spider veins), and glandular bumps on the skin. So, if you want beautiful skin free of those ailments, start by applying sunscreen!

Do Celebrities Use the Skin Care Products They Endorse?

When we see a celebrity with great skin promoting skin care, we may assume that’s why their skin looks so great. But do they really use it? If a celebrity endorses a product, they’ve at least used it once. Companies ask them to endorse a lot of different products — and most will try them so they can speak about it firsthand.

Plus, the Federal Trade Commission works to enforce “truth in advertising laws” that require people to be honest about their relationship with the product, even with social media endorsements. If they’re being paid to promote something, you should know.

However, just because they’ve used a product once and recommend it, doesn’t mean they use it on a regular basis. So don’t assume that every celebrity that recommends a make-up or a face wash uses that product exclusively.

Why Some Celebrities Really Do Have Better Skin

So what do celebrities do to make the biggest difference in their skin? Are there such things as celebrity skin treatments?

No. Celebrities with great skin just take advantage of the tools that everyone has access to. They visit their dermatologist often to see what treatments, procedures, and products will work best for them. They use Botox, fillers, sunscreen, chemical peels, and IPL/photofacial.

It’s not that they have access to anything unique — it’s that they actually get the treatments.

And, although they may visit a notable dermatologist, those doctors aren’t necessarily any better than your local dermatologist — they just have a lot of experience.

In other words, celebrity skin care isn’t so elusive after all. If you want that A-list treatment that’s making a difference for your favorite celeb, start with a visit to the dermatologist. Celebrities are real people dealing with real skin issues. And the same treatments that work for them can work for you too.
