Keller, TX May 16, 2011 – Dr. R. Todd Plott, renowned dermatological researcher, is opening his own private dermatology practice in Keller, specializing in medical and acne-related skin issues. Dermatology Alliance – Keller will open May 23 at 12469 Timberland Blvd.
Dr. Plott is best known for his invention and patenting of SOLODYN, the most widely prescribed product by dermatologist for acne treatment in the U.S. He has spent the last 20 years working in clinical research, directing and overseeing numerous dermatological clinical trials and research programs for acne and other skin diseases such as rosacea, fungal infections and psoriasis.
“I want to take my extensive research experience, where I treated thousands of patients at a time through my research, to the direct patient level where I can interact one-on-one with patients,” said Dr. Plott. “It is a very rewarding feeling to know that I have, in some way, helped make many people’s lives better through improved medications for their skin. It is a different sense of satisfaction to know that I have made a difference in an individual’s life by treating their skin disease.”
His past experience includes Chief Medical Officer for Revance Therapeutics, Inc. in California; Vice President of Clinical Research and Regulatory Affairs for Medicis Pharmaceutical Company in Scottsdale, AZ; Director of Clinical Research for Schering-Plough Research Institute in Kenilworth, NJ and Director of Worldwide Clinical Development for Galderma Laboratories in Fort Worth, TX. Since returning to his native Texas two years ago, he has served as a clinical staff dermatologist for Dallas Associated Dermatologists.
He is a graduate of the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, completed his dermatology residency at the University of Arkansas, and a research fellowship at the National Cancer Institutes in Bethesda, MD.
